What a night! The Canadian Country Music Association Awards took place last night at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, and showcased some of Canada's hottest talent! Dallas Smith and Billy Ray Cyrus co-hosted the star-studded event, and even added some levity to the show. The big winner last night was Alberta native, Tenille Townes, who took home four awards - winning ALL categories in which she was nominated. Co-host Dallas Smith took home the coveted Entertainer of the Year Award, along with Male Artist of the Year. Country music star, Brett Kissel, took home the only fan-voted award - the Apple Music Fans' Choice! The two-hour show featured performances by Tim Hicks, High Valley & Lindsay Ell, The Reklaws, Aaron Goodvin, Charlie Major with Aaron Pritchett and Jess Moskaluke, and even a show-stopping magical performance of "Wild As Me," - performed by country music couple, Meghan Patrick and Mitchell Tenpenny. The show also saw performances by Old Dominion, Morgan Wallen, Dallas Smith, Billy Ray Cyrus and more!
The Canadian Country Music Association also honoured Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee for 2019, Charlie Major, along with their Humanitarian of the Year Award recipient, Paul Brandt with special live performances. Their awards were given out at Saturday night's Industry Gala and Awards.
